Pupapalooza 2013

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything…

Lately I’ve been keeping busy with my Pawtography (photographing pets).  Last month I had the opportunity to be one of the vendors at Pupapalooza.  This event took place at Alum Creek State Park Dog Park in Ohio.  I’m hoping to find more events like this around the Midwest, maybe a little closer to home.  It was a great time for everyone.  I loved meeting so many dogs (and their people).  I think my favorite part was the dog beach.  They all had a blast!  Especially this lab in the photo below ;) – so happy!

If you like these photos & want to see more of my Pawtography, find me on facebook

18 x24 Acrylic on Canvas board

I”m a little disappointed with the way the water turned out but hey, I’m no Wyland.  Painting ripples & water movement is  just something I’ll have to practice on…

Paintings toward a Cure…

I was in a lime green & purple mood this past weekend & below are the results of my artwork.  My partner even joined me painting this weekend but those aren’t finished yet.  There will be more to come.  We were inspired by these colors because lime green is the color of the cause of awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and purple is the color of Ethan’s birthstone (amethyst).

For the next few weeks, 100% of proceeds for all art I sell will be donated toward the walk I will be participating in on March 24, 2012.

The Hawks Stare

Last November I went out walking around Catigny Gardens and came across a hawk that was perched up on a tree branch, probably no more than 10 feet up from the ground.  I don’t think I’ve ever been that close to a hawk before and I was surprised by how LARGE those birds really are!  The wingspan of Red Tailed Hawks is usually around 4ft in length and let me just say, I got chills when the hawk flew off the branch it was perched on because it flew right over my head & I felt the wind from it’s flapping wings go right down the back of my neck!!!!  It was Awesome!

My hawk is a little bit fat in comparison, but oh well

Bunnies are occupying my block….my dog hates it but I love it.

When I came out with my camera, the bunnies got spooked & ran away from me. Except this one.. this one ran toward me to the corner in my yard. (I call this one Charlie because of his unique marking on his face ~ see photo below and you'll understand)

Over the summer someone dumped about 20 domestic bunnies in a field down the street from my house.  I’m guessing the owner of the bunnies may have just started with 2 or 3 and didn’t realize how much bunnies like to uh, Continue reading

All About Marley ~ My Best Friend

Always ready for a good hike ~ Since we like to hike & travel, he gets to see & smell all kinds of places. This is at the Lower Falls in Hocking Hills, Ohio.

I’ve always been an animal lover but ever since I’ve had Marley, I’ve been more passionate about animals & I love them even more.  Especially dogs!!  I have to admit, he is my inspiration for this website.  Just like any other animal lover, I want to save all animals in need of a good home or good health etc.  But the reality is, I can’t.
